Kicking Off our 2nd Year

🎯 750 Veterans Helped. One Year. One Mission.

One year ago, Mountain Valor launched with a simple mission: make sure no veteran in rural Virginia falls through the cracks.

Fast-forward to today—we’ve directly supported more than 750 veterans and their families.

That’s not just a number. That’s 750 moments where someone who served our country found clarity, connection, or access to the benefits they earned. And most of those 750? They live in rural Virginia, where services are few and far between—and where being "invisible" to big systems is far too common.

Why focus on rural veterans?

Because this is where the gap is widest—and the need is greatest.

Veterans in rural areas are:

  • Older, often widowed or living alone

  • Less likely to be connected to VA benefits—many don’t even know they qualify

  • More likely to struggle with transportation, healthcare access, and endless bureaucratic loops

  • Less visible to traditional veteran support organizations

That’s where we come in.

Mountain Valor doesn’t wait for veterans to come to us—we go to them. Our team shows up in libraries, at town halls, inside food banks, and across farmers markets. We bring trusted, practical guidance right to their hometowns. We talk benefits, claims, survivor support, mental health, and legacy planning—and we stay for the hard questions.

What does impact look like?

It looks like a Vietnam vet finally getting his VA healthcare access after decades of being told he didn’t qualify.

It looks like a widow in Carroll County finally receiving DIC benefits she didn’t even know existed.

It looks like a senior veteran being connected to a local DAV driver so he can actually make his next appointment.

It looks like trust—being rebuilt one conversation at a time.

What’s ahead?
